The Brief : Create a ‘Youthy’ event planner-calendar for the Youth-group. The feeling must be ‘out-of-control’ and ‘different’.
Our Involvement : A completely new font was created for this design. Using scratchy handwriting, while holding two pens loosely, we were able to create an ‘out-of-control’ font that was then scanned and digitally edited. Colour positions have no set boundaries, and the out of control feeling is reinforced with randomly overlaid textures in the background. Capital letters appear at random in the readable sections. The events planner is designed to sit on a desk or other flat surface. Contact details for the Youth Group Leader are on the base of the pyramid inscribed into a random drawing.

The Brief : Produce a health and well-being seminar compendium for the Client to display at a seminar with high profile Singaporean women, displaying the New Zealand essence of the seminar products. The Client was speaking on ‘taking care of yourself holistically’ and wanted a package aimed at Singaporean women (the tri-logo, the colours purple and gold,) with a New Zealand feel (the Paua prints and New Zealand products).
Our Involvement : ora3 Logo concepts, typography, layout, package, content and product branding. ‘Energy, Posture, Balance’ were keywords in this project. A cost breakdown per package was also included in the final prototype given to the client. Potpourri, candles, fragrance oil, a hand massager, bath oils, earrings and branded chocolate were all included in a single package, alongside seminary notes, bookmarks, and keyword reminders. The items inside the ora3 package were wrapped in an elegant purple crepe sheet.
The Feedback : Although the Client eventually decided against producing 100 of these ora3 packages, she took the prototype package over to the seminar and it was received with excellent praise. She indicated that events organisers and those women who did see the prototype were very impressed. Thank you for the opportunity! Return to Top

The Brief : Produce stationary and newsletters aimed at teachers and students, advertising student workshops and experience days, promoting the agricultural industry as a career choice.
Our Involvement : Note: The OutStanding logo itself was created previously by a different design firm. Logo application, newsletter content, collation and formatting, business cards, plastic bags, agricultural careers ‘map’ (showing how the various ag-industries relate to each other).
The Client wanted something that visually explains how the agricultural industries relate to each other. The Ag-Map is the result. It displays three sections, Business, Science, Hands-on. The Client loved it. So did Meat & Wool New Zealand, who are currently using it in their education campaigns.
The Feedback : All happy. Return to Top

The Brief : Client was arranging a surprise ‘all-expenses-paid’ Weekend to Remember Conference for her parents 25th wedding anniversary. The Brief was to create a voucher pack to inform the Client's parents of the conference details, accommodation, itinerary details and details of those who contributed to the all-expenses-paid voucher pack.
Our Involvement : Using the elegant Edwardian font and subtle typography alongside a limited colour palette, Bara produced a fantastic looking voucher and set of six informational cards. Printed on 320/gsm high gloss speciality photo paper and delivered in a metallic maroon envelope, sealed with a silver heart, it produced a stunning result! Bell photography sourced from Flickr : *Meredith with permission.
The Feedback : ‘Wow! The conference gave you all this?!’, ‘Fantastic! I loved it because it looks so stylish and valuable!’, ‘Just taken a varda at your gift voucher creation and am blown away! Gorgeous work, beautifully presented. Lucky ma and pa! Many thanks for letting me see your wonderful handiwork.’ Return to Top

Our Involvement : Personal project for family. Wedding photos are special so we took some time to make a special cover for the CD. Note: These are not the official photos of that wedding. Just a bunch of personally taken ones. This cover had a backing as well as a front.
(Still, being excellent in everything is what we do!) Return to Top

The Brief : University Assignment. Pick a subject and create a prototype magazine. Include photography work.
Our Involvement : This prototype magazine was created in reaction to walking into a Magazine store. Everywhere, all magazines were screaming out in neon colors and bolded headlines, ‘LOOK HERE, PAY ATTENTION, LOOK AT ME.’ The end result is a mess of overwhelming visual vomit. ‘Whitespace’ (the prototype magazine) was designed and created to sit quietly on the shelf, announcing it's presence with a major difference.
The Mast of the magazine is below the normal placement, this being covered up by other magazines in front, leaving a large visual ‘space’ and drawing attention to itself without being ‘loud’. Whitespace is a technical design term talking about the spaces around words and letters. The magazine title is a play on words about the magazines function, journey, target audience, point of sale and point of difference.
Whitespace features hand-placed clear vinyl, photography, industrial strength canvass eyelets, Custom Mast, experimental typography placement and layout, long lasting semi-gloss 300/gsm cover and 220/gsm pages. Return to Top
